On May 11 at the Central Library named after M.L.Kropyvnytskyi of Mykolaiv the master class on making festive cards in the technique of quilling "Lace Filigree" was held with the support of the women and girls-friendly space "Vilna". The Cultural and Artistic Association "Art-spokusa" invited a creative duo of craftswomen Zhanna Maksymova and Hanna Petryk to hold a class.
Exquisite quilling is available only to the chosen ones. This filigree art requires a lot of attention and concentration. It cannot be simply mastered - you may only to fall in love with it and dissolve in its exquisite beauty.
Our talented young ladies gladly agreed to learn about the intricacies of the quilling technique. Craftswomen Zhanna and Hanna gave the necessary tools and materials to the students. Artlocation workplaces were instantly filled with colorful paper strips, as if a real rainbow filled the creative space of the library. The lesson began with the study of the main types of quilling elements, because the composition is born from them: eye, crescent, drop, arrow, horns, curl, heart, etc. After studying, the girls plunged into a painstaking creative process. Paper strips were wound, bent, cut, glued and given the necessary shapes. Everything depended on the idea of the authors.
After some time on the paper background of the cardboard floral exaggerated silhouettes began to appear. Elegant daisies, wisteria, cosmea, cornflowers and lilacs opened their petals on postcards. Among this beauty, bunches of red rowan trees scattered and colorful butterflies fluttered.
The young ladies were satisfied with the result! So, the art of quilling succumbed to our magicians.
