As part of the celebration of the City Day, the Central City Library named after M. L. Kropyvnytskyi was visited by representatives of the delegation of the Kingdom of Denmark - Henriette Borg Reingoldt and Camilla Mordhorst.

Together with the director of the library, honored journalist of Ukraine Inha Khorzhevska, the guests got acquainted with the work of the departments of our institution and library branches.

Inha Eduardivna shared her memories of the functioning of our team during the difficult period of the beginning of the illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine. She told about our losses and volunteer activities.

So the librarians of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi and its branches were involved in the production of trench candles, baking bread for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, weaving camouflage nets.

6 libraries (Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi and library branches No. 3, 4, 11, 12, 15) together with other institutions of culture, education and social infrastructure of the city have been participants of the free project on distribution bread to the townspeople since mid-April 2022 .
 
It was implemented with the support of the UN World Food Program in coordination with NGO "Tarilka". Every day, library specialists distributed 300 to 500 loaves of bread to the townspeople at each point.
 
2 libraries (Central City Library named after M. L. Kropyvnytskyi and library branch library № 2) participated in issuing food cards to citizens, their registration and re-registration in the electronic database.
 
The Mykolaiv aid headquarters "Southern Protection" operated in library branch №10 in Shyroka Balka. Volunteers delivered humanitarian goods (food, drinking water, medicines, personal hygiene products, clothes, etc.) to the library from various regions of the country and abroad, in particular Poland, Turkey for distribution to residents of the city, region and de-occupied Kherson. The headquarters was also in close contact with the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
 
The library branch №16 in the Ternivka microdistrict was also an active participant of the volunteer movement.
Last year, for Volunteer Day, we received a gratitude from the Department of Culture and Cultural Heritage Protection. At the same time, the director of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi Inha Khorzhevska was presented a letter of gratitude by the NGO "Cultural and artistic association "Art-spokusa" together with the NGO "Youth center for scientific activity" for support and cooperation in the framework of volunteer and cultural and artistic initiatives.
