Hanna Polovenko's book "Life as Shards of Glass" is a unique diary that begins on the first day of the full-scale invasion and covers almost two years, up to the liberation of Kherson.

The author immerses the reader in the reality of frontline Mykolaiv. Events are presented through her own experience: volunteer work with the Red Cross, meetings with fellow volunteers, civilians, and soldiers. Personal reflections, fears, and hopes are closely intertwined with friends' Facebook posts and media reports, creating a vivid and candid picture of the war.

Important pages in the book are dedicated to occupied Kherson and its liberation. The author presents them through the memories of those who survived the occupation.
