This morning a commemorative plaque to the poet, journalist, Honorary Citizen of Mykolaiv Emil Yanvariov was solemnly opened in the Literary Square next to the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi. 

The event was held as part of the celebration of the City Day and the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Mykolaiv Regional Organization of the National Writers' Union of Ukraine.

The author of the original artistic commemorative plaque is the Honored Worker of Arts of Ukraine, sculptor Ivan Bulavytskyi. It was made at the expense of the city budget.

On this day, the creative intelligentsia of the Hero City - heroes, librarians, journalists and writers - gathered in the Literary Square.

Traditionally, the festivities were opened by the director of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi Inha Khorzhevska.

The welcome speech was delivered by the head of the Department for Culture and Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Mykolaiv City Council Yurii Liubarov.

Friends and colleagues remembered Emil Yanvariov with warm words. The real decoration of the opening of the commemorative plaque was the performance of the library's immersive theater "BIT". The team members read the poet's poems.

This is the fourth commemorative plaque opened in the Literary Square near the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi, which was founded on the initiative of the library by famous townspeople - poets, writers, journalists and local historians.

The widow of Emil Yanvariov - Liudmila Pavlivna Kostiuk planted a rowan tree here. An original artistic commemorative plaque was placed near it.
