Recently, among the representatives of the fair sex of Ukraine, and female readers of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi, the art of quilling is gaining special popularity.

Thin strips of paper twisted in a spiral in skillful female hands turn into masterpieces, original compositions.

Of course, learning it requires some time and acquired skills. But the end result is impressive and inspiring.

Following the numerous suggestions of the regular visitors of the library's master classes, the Cultural and Artistic Association "Art-spokusa" organized an unscheduled meeting of the library's readers with the craftswoman Tetiana Veremienko.

"What is quilling about? About femininity, filigree. Laciness, transparency, coziness. Because the works made by the masters of this art form are unsurpassed. And it is not for nothing that once in England it was society ladies who began to practice this art form. Therefore, today our young ladies are mastering such a royal form of art," says Valentyna Kryvtsova, head of the Cultural and Artistic Association "Art-Spocusa" .

"Some are familiar with it, and some are not. That's why I chose such a small postcard for this group, so that it would be more convenient and easier for people who are unfamiliar with this type of creativity to understand the idea of it" adds Tetiana Veremienko, craftswoman of the Cultural and Artistic Association "Art-Spocusa".

By the way, quilling can be combined with other types of paper art. For example, with scrapbooking. In this way, you can make your own decorations for books. Quilling compositions and creating collages can be suitable.
