The Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi is holding a book donation campaign. We have good news. Recently, the library received ten copies of the book "Desert. Holodomor. Ukrainian South" by Vira Marushchak from the exchange fund of the Mykolaiv Regional Library for Children.

The arrival of the book was made possible thanks to the support of the Ukrainian Association of Publishers and Book Distributors.

Vira Ivanovna is a well-known Mykolaiv writer, journalist, and head of the regional organization of the National Writers' Union of Ukraine. Despite the fact that she is currently outside our country, she continues her active writing and public activities. She writes books for both adults and children and teenagers. She generously shares her publications with libraries, for which we are sincerely grateful to her.

The collection "Desert. Holodomor. Ukrainian South" is intended for an adult audience and has a deep, serious meaning. The author tells about the genocide of the Ukrainian people, which was especially acutely manifested during the famines during the years of hardship. Vіra Ivanivna is touched by the great tragedy of the country through the artistic word. She calls to be vigilant, to protect the Motherland. The book once again returns Ukrainians to the awareness of national consciousness and identity. The warm lines of the story "Desert", which is included in the collection, touch the soul. The writer tells about the life of her dear person - her mother, who is the main heroine of this work. The author herself notes that everyone who reads the book will discover new values of life through the experiences and emotions of the main characters.

The Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi is sincerely grateful for the book gift from the writer Vira Marushchak, the Mykolaiv Regional Library for Children (director Tetiana Zhaivoronok), the Ukrainian Association of Publishers and Book Distributors (acting director Igor Stepurin).

We invite everyone who wants to read the new book to the Central Library and its branches.
