On this unusual family day, celebrated in Ukraine in May, it is especially important to pay attention to your closest people, strengthen family ties, and pass on traditions to the new, younger generation.

This life principle is adhered to in the family of the famous Mykolaiv musician and conductor, director of Mykolaiv Music School No. 8, Andrii Kryvoruchko.

An unforgettable, bright and modern event, interesting in its essence of collaboration of music and painting, was presented to the people of Mykolaiv at the end of this week by Andrii, Sofia and Polina Kryvoruchko, Anastasia Drago, Borys and Oksana Kryvoruchko. Family Fest - this is about family, about love and affection, about talent and creativity.

The meeting took place within the framework of the intercultural project "Mykolaiv. We are different. We are together!".

"The inspirer for this event was my father. He is an artist by profession. But he constantly worked at Mykolaiv enterprises. He painted throughout his life. After retiring, he began to visit his homeland more often. There he was inspired by childhood memories and painted many paintings. He dreamed of an exhibition. I really wanted to help him realize this. And it so happened that during the full-scale war with the Russian aggressor, it turned out that my brother's wife also painted. So, at a family meeting, a joint creative decision was made that they would hold an exhibition, and we would hold a mini-concert," says Andrii Kryvoruchko.

The authors were helped to select the painted canvases and works with Petrykivka painting by experienced specialists of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi, and in particular, the director Inha Khorzhevska. By the way, during the preparation, an agreement on organizing a separate, personal exhibition of pani Oksana Kryvoruchko in the library was also reached. In this exhibition, the townspeople will see only a small part of her works.

"I was interested in Petrykivka painting since childhood. I drew, attended an art club during my school years. My father often took me to museums and exhibitions with folk painting. Later, I painted for myself. And when the war began, there was such a need to create...to switch to something. That is, I began to be interested specifically in the painting technique. I watched free video lessons every day. There are a lot of master classes where you can learn. And so I paid attention to it every day. And I started painting," says the craftswoman.

She has already collected a bunch of new works at home. Several are abroad in private collections of connoisseurs of Petrykivka painting. Pani Oksana mostly begins to create at night, when the activity of her relatives and friends subsides.

"I want to tell you that Petrykivka painting is a colorful cosmos. This is my vision. The colors are very diverse. Traditional colors are red, yellow, green, orange, blue and purple. But when mixed, a lot of shades appear. And images arise during the work," shared pani Oksana.

And during the concert, classical and contemporary works, jazz, and improvisations were performed.
