An exhibition of his wooden carvings and paintings, filled with deep philosophy and aesthetic perfection, was presented to the people of Mykolaiv.
Yurii Odrobinskyi is a Mykolaiv master of wood carving, an artist, a candidate of art history, an associate professor, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and the Union of Designers of Ukraine, a laureate of the M. Arkas regional award, and a recipient of the St. Mykolai of the III degree honorary award of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Chairman. He is also the head of the Department of Design at the Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University.
To bring his ideas to life, he uses various original techniques, carefully selecting wood types by color and texture. Sometimes he applies artificial wood coloring to emphasize the originality of his concept. Pan Yurii has his own unique style called "Odrobintura"—an ethno-futuristic and cosmogonic approach to wood carving with toning. The artist pays special attention to compositions that represent the boundless Universe, with the image of the Woman-Berehynia at its center.
His works are crafted from linden, alder, walnut, and oak. The collection primarily consists of decorative panels, sculptures, and iconographic images, all created using the relief carving technique.
During the presentation, visitors had the opportunity to get to know the artist, his style, and his worldview more closely, as well as to experience the uniqueness of his artistic compositions.
The exhibition is ongoing at the library—we invite you to view it!
