Mykola Vingranovskyi is a famous poet of the sixties generation, prose writer, film director, and actor — one of the vivid figures of Ukrainian culture. But what was he like beyond textbook facts and familiar lines?

This is precisely what the book by Svitlana Bohdan, published in 2025 by the Dukh i Litera publishing house, is all about. It is not just a biography, but an attempt to see Vingranovskyi as a living person — with his character, creative pursuits, difficult decisions, relationships with people, and the times in which he lived.

During the meeting, the author spoke about her work on the book, archival materials, memories of friends and family, and documents and testimony that helped recreate the life and creative path of Mykola Vingranovskyi.

They spoke about the artist's personality, his work, important moments in his life, and why Vingranovskyi remains relevant today. We thank Svitlana Bohdan for an interesting conversation and the opportunity to take a fresh look at the figure of Mykola Vingranovskyi.
