These are two expositions with distinct moods — "Guardians of Secrets" and "Cat's House: Reboot" — yet both reveal the artist's amazing creative world.
The "Guardians of Secrets" exhibition features original interior and attic dolls, graphics, decorative wall panels, New Year's cards, and beaded jewelry crafted by Mariia herself. Every piece possesses its own character, history, and sense of mystery.
Dolls hold a special place in the collection. Many of the artist's original works have already traveled the world and found their owners, which is why photographic copies are displayed at the exhibition. Yet even through a photograph, the atmosphere of these unusual characters is strongly felt.
A significant part of Mariia's work is dedicated to the relationship between humans and animals. Her "Guardians of Secrets" are fairytale creatures with human faces, seemingly protecting what is most sacred: our dreams, sleep, memories, and warmest feelings.
Nearby, visitors are welcomed by "Cat's House: Reboot" — another collection by Mariia Makarova.
This time, "Cat's House" has been updated and expanded with new works, giving the familiar exposition a fresh perspective. Here lie feline personalities, images, moods, and little stories created with love and remarkable imagination.
Mariia Makarova was an exceptionally talented and hardworking artist. She created entire worlds — whimsical, slightly mysterious, sometimes funny, but always vividly alive and emotional.
Today, these worlds have met once again in a single space, allowing us to discover Mariia's art, see through her eyes what words cannot always express, and preserve the memory of the creator through her work.
So visit the library — look closely at the details, discover something new, and simply enjoy the art of Mariia Makarova.
Perhaps among the mysterious "Guardians," you will meet your own.
And inside "Cat's House," you might recognize that very cat that has long settled in your heart.
