The last day of February in the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi was marked by an unexpected and very pleasant meeting.

Director Inha Khorzhevska was visited by guests from Novyi Buh: deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council of the 7th convocation Oleksandr Bondar and artist, teacher, researcher of the native region's history Volodymyr Galushchenko.

They brought gifts to the library team. Book fund of the Central City Library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi was replenished with two editions.

One of them is "The Sound of the Father's Bandura". Volodymyr Viktorovych was the author of the idea to publish it and its editor. The book is dedicated to the Ukrainian writer from Novyi Buh Spyrydon Cherkasenko.

"A lot was written about Cherkasenko. The material was collected and we published the book. It saw the light of the day thanks to Oleksandr Bondar. It was printed in our local publishing house. It would be possible to do it somewhere else. But we came to the conclusion that since we are talking about our fellow countryman, we will publish it in our publishing house," Volodymyr Galushchenko shared with Inha Khorzhevska.

The collection was published in a small edition in 2019 at the expense of budget funding of the Novyi Buh district within the framework of the book publishing support program and direct support and participation in the project of Oleksandr Bondar.

"Volodymyr Viktorovych nurtured this idea for about twenty years. Prepared the material. To a greater extent his own work is in this book. If possible, we plan to publish an additional edition of the book in hardcover. Since the first one was published in a small number of copies. It is in the Novyi Buh library. And it was distributed in our school libraries. We also jointly decided that this book shouild be in Mykolaiv libraries," Oleksandr Bondar noted.

"The Sound of the Father's Bandura" will be useful to school teachers, students, local historians and everyone interested in the history of the Mykolaiv region.

And another gift is the "Know Your Novyi Buh" project. In it, readers will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the artist Volodymyr Galushchenko, who draws attention to the places around us through his talent.
