Today, people have enormous access to information, consume it in unlimited quantities from various sources. Accordingly, such a process, on the one hand, opens up opportunities, and on the other hand, creates new threats.

Media education helps to form the culture of information product consumption by revealing the technologies of influence of mass media on the consciousness of the audience. This has already become a requirement of the time, which largely solves the problem of security of the information space.

Specialists of the electronic information department of the Central city library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi regularly conduct thematic mini-trainings for library visitors. Librarians teach residents of Mykolaiv and visitors of the region to check information, avoid falling into information traps, distinguish true information from fakes and understand it.
